Michael Triguboff

Michael is an investment professional with over 40 years’ experience in investments in corporate public and private equity activities in the USA, Asia, Europe, and Australia. In the USA, Michael worked for a Quantum Fund (George Soros ) vehicle which invested in distressed debt securities. He then established an investment vehicle with Equity Group (Sam Zell and Bob Lurie) to invest in troubled public and private mid-sized companies in the USA.

Returning to Australia , Michael became  a global equity partner of Lazard Freres and founded Lazard Asset Management Pacific in 1994. In 2002, he founded MIR Asset Management which he sold in 2013. In both these roles as founder and CEO of Lazard and MIR, he was responsible for approximately $8 billion in institutional mandates for long and hedge fund activities. Michael was  responsible in his role at Lazard Freres for its private equity investments in Singapore, India, Hong Kong & Indonesia.

From 2013-2021, Michael was also  involved as principal in Adexum Funds whose mandate was to invest in mid-market private companies, as well as becoming Chief Executive of a start-up tyre recycling company headquartered in Germany. He remains involved in various  private  and public equity investments.

Michael is passionate about learning and remains to this day a perennial part-time student. His recent appointment as an Adjunct Professor in the Business School is an attempt to share that passion and curiosity.
