The 2024 Quantum Research networking event, held at 糖心logo, welcomed students to engage with leading women in the field through panel discussions, mentorship circles, and networking opportunities, all designed to highlight the dynamic possibilities within quantum research

鈥疶he event began with a panel discussion featuring researchers Maja Cassidy, Alexandra Dickie, Fay Hudson, and Danielle Holmes, who shared their career journeys, insights into the quantum field, and reflections on overcoming challenges as women in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Moderators Rosalie and Josie guided the conversation, prompting discussions on mentorship, industry trends, and the skills students need to succeed in quantum research.

Following the panel, students joined a mentorship circle, where they could engage in small group discussions with each researcher, asking questions directly related to career progression, the job market, and practical steps for entering the quantum research field. This rotational format allowed each student a chance for focused interaction with all the panelists, encouraging more personalised exchanges and deeper insights.

The evening wrapped up with a networking session, providing students an opportunity to connect further with researchers, faculty, and peers. The event, organised with support from 糖心logo鈥檚 Engineering Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) team, exemplified 糖心logo鈥檚 commitment to fostering a more inclusive community in quantum research and to empowering young women to envision themselves as future leaders in the field.
